  • Weege named Evergreen fire chief

    The Evergreen Fire Proection District board has selected Mike Weege as the new fire chief.   “I am excited and proud to be selected Evergreen’s fire chief,” Weege said. “I’m looking forward to working with each division of Evergreen Fire and Rescue to ensure the best service we can provide.” Weege, who has been serving as assistant chief, and Doug Saba, public information officer for Evergreen Fire/Rescue, were the finalists for the position.

  • Farm/ranch supply store proposed for Albertsons site

    A possible answer to Evergreen residents’ questions about a rezoning notice at the former Albertsons grocery store emerged at the Jeffco planning commission meeting on May 9. If the rezoning and business negotiations are successful, a Tractor Supply Co. store could occupy the large building at Evergreen Parkway and Stagecoach Road.

  • PAC finally gets over the hump

    GLENDALE — As the seconds winded down May 9 at Infinity Park it was all the PAC Rugby sideline could do to contain its exuberant enthusiasm. After all this had been three years in the making. A bridesmaid two years running in the Division II high school state championship game, PAC Rugby, with players from Conifer, Platte Canyon and Evergreen high schools, didn’t want to experience that feeling again. This time it didn’t have to.

  • Cougars’ Tenney headed to state

    ARVADA — Madison Tenney, for most of the 2012 girls golf season, has been Evergreen’s most consistent player. And while her play was anything but consistent at the 4A Metro West Regional it was enough to qualify her for next week’s 4A state tournament.
