Elk Meadow Properties and Evergreen Christian Outreach would like to thank the community for showing their support and coming together to help replenish EChO’s food needs this past weekend. Sunday evening we received an email from the President of the EChO Board of Directors thanking us for our support and followed with this statement; “Kim Gaudett, the EChO resale manager called me in a panic.
Since the EChO office was closed our generous neighbors had responded to your article in the Canyon Courier, bringing lots, and lots and lots of food to the EChO Resale store.” This was such a great email to receive knowing that the community came together to help out our local outreach center. Following with this we wanted to make everyone aware of EChO and St Raphael’s business hours which are Monday 10am to 5:30pm and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am to 4 pm. EChO no longer accepts donations after hours due to fire and safety requirements. Thank you for your cooperation and continued donations. Now that the weather is getting colder EChO is in short supply of winter clothing for men, women, & children. Look through your closets and see if you have winter clothes that you do not wear anymore and could help a person in need by donating some warm clothing. We realize that everybody has fallen on tough times, but by donating items that you already have can be a true blessing without straining yourself. Here is a list of items that EChO has provided to us to pass along to our community neighbors. Men’s Work & Snow Boots Snow Pants for adults & children Men’s & Boys Sweat Pants Hats, gloves, & scarves for all New Underwear & Socks for all Men’s Jeans Winter Clothing for all A few other items that are in need for St. Raphael’s House are: Bath Towels Clean Bedding Vacuum cleaners Drinking glasses Kitchen gadgets (silverware, can openers etc.) + small appliances + pots & pans As we all know the holidays are approaching quickly and nobody wants to see a family go without. That’s where the St. Nicks gift shop will be going on in December. EChO is asking for new, unwrapped toys along with the necessary items to wrap gifts. Wrapping paper, bows, tape, scissors, gift tags, and ribbon would all be greatly appreciated. Also, it’s nice to have gifts that the children can pick from to give to their parents. Gifts for the adults should stay within the $10.00 range and be something like chocolates, coffee & herbed tea bags. EChO will be taking in food donations for Thanksgiving at any time. Items such as green beans, canned fried onions, cream of mushroom, stuffing, cranberry sauce, & gravy mix. Turkey donations would be greatly appreciated for Thanksgiving. EChO will be providing us with their Thanksgiving menu and we will update the needs list for Thanksgiving dinner accordingly to their menu.
